@daveshaw , I have traditional Medicare and Humana Supplement plan. I will check again with medicare, but I was told this by several people. And, that’s what I have found online as well. It covers a Wellness visit, but not a standard physical exam. I’ll check on it again. M

@celia16 I, too, have Medicare and Humana, and only the “wellness” visit was covered.

@foundryrat743 , i found this and it’s consistent with everything I have found about Medicare not covering physical exams.

@celia16 Thank you so much for sending this! I absolutely appreciate now knowing the difference, between the Medicare Wellness ‘Visit’, that is covered, as compared to a real physical exam! It’s important that I have this information, because it goes right along with my theory that many of us elderly people, some, like me, who have serious ailments, are being ‘lightly targeted’, in terms of not fully being evaluated, for medical problems, by the provider! Thus, when I ran into the problem, of incontinence, my provider has not been checking closely my prostate exam the last several years, and now I have a problem! He did ask if I wanted to be seen by a Urologist! Well, I know now, how to handle the next phase of my getting good quality medical care! Thanks again for your sending this most informative information! I appreciate your caring and concern! Wishing you the best, for the upcoming holiday season!

@foundryrat743 , you are welcome. I am new to Medicare so this surprised me. I have gotten an annual physical and pelvic exam for years. I’ll have to figure out how to navigate this. Guess I’ll have to pay for it out of pocket. I will discuss it with my GP when I go for my Welcome Wellness Visit.
I wish you the best with your medical condition.
