Evaporative humidifier that is easy to clean

Posted by paxmundi @paxmundi, Nov 27 8:19pm

In searching for an evaporative humidifier for my daughter who doesn’t have NTMs but is immunocompromised, I am thinking that ease of cleaning is one of the most central factors. So do any of you have any suggestions for what to buy for her?

That is great news! This may be the right choice then since it’s stainless steel. What category of humidifier is it? Everything I’ve seen says that there are just two types: ultrasonic and evaporative. Since this doesn’t use a wick it seems to be in a different category.

@paxmundi Also curious as to where you saw Falkinham say that. My daughter is a stickler for studies.

Falkinham said ultrasonic humidifiers spread MAC, so I am confused by this.

@paxmundi - I agree. I don’t think you should use humidifiers if you have MAC

The kind that boils the water should be safe to use. We tried ours last night and it works great and kept the room from being as dry.

@irenea8 Is it pretty large, Irene? I saw they only had 3L and larger?

I hope she agrees as it’s the best option I’ve seen. Thanks so much! Happy Holidays!

@irenea8 She read a number of bad reviews on Amazon saying that it stopped working or leaking after a short time so back to the drawing board.
