Any experience with red or infrared light therapy for PMR?

Posted by stiff @stiff, Dec 4, 2022

I have had PMR for almost 5 years and have been on prednisone anywhere from 10 mg to 2 mg daily with several flare-ups as I try to wean. I am always interested in complementary therapies which might relieve some of the pain and stiffness. I use a heating pad and hot tub but wonder about anyone's experience with red or infrared light therapy...there are so many products available but they seem expensive if they really don't help.

Starting Prednisone today and getting a glucose monitor as I am also prediabetic. My A1C was good before treatment. Anyone have experience with becoming diabetic while on Prednisone?

I, too, would like to know how many, or at least someone, who benefited by an infrared sauna. I have a friend purchasing one, and I may try it.

No, to becoming diabetic. I am on an anti-inflammatory diet (of course, I do cheat at times) and I'm gluten free all the time. My glucose level is now lower than normal.
