Came across your post. I am 70 years old and have had the gees I can’t get a deep breath unless I yawn. I was given albuterol inhaler and it seemed to work well enough over the years. Now that I’m old it has come back pretty bad. Not only that but when I have what I call a severe episode I feel like I have a tight band around my rib cage just under my breast. Then I fell like I can’t even expand my lungs even with the yawning. I did get diagnosed with severe Emphysema. I’m pretty sure they are correct but it still does not explain why I have had to breath with a yawn here and there all of my life. It’s pretty frustrating to have to sit and doing breathing until I get the yawn to happen. They put me on trilogy but sometimes I feel like that makes me cough and then the breathing issue starts so I don’t take it every day. Only when I’m having a hard time getting that breath. So who knows what the heck it is

@gwenl442001, I'm sorry you're dealing with this now! I know it can be distressing especially since you have trouble expanding the lungs. The emphysema diagnosis is hopefully at least somewhat of a relief that you got something to pinpoint, and that with this you can receive the proper treatment. I wonder if you've had emphysema for a while and got progressively worse over the years; had you been testing in previous years?
