NO appetite, nausea, losing weight,
I've steadily gotten worse over the past year or more; down to 84 pounds, and have no appetite, even for favorite foods. Doctors just blow past my questions. Have completed some tests; waiting for more. Dr would not even go over my medications for possible reasons. I am very "fuzzy" headed, hard to focus on anything. Nausea used to be mornings, but it happens pretty much constantly, though not enough to vomit; but sometimes dry heaves. I desperately want answers, if possible.

I had the same problem. I have multiple autoimmune diseases and was on Neurontin and Cymbalta with weight gain from 115 to 176. At least 2 years after discontinuing them Isuddenly at least 2 pounds per day melted away until I weighed 98 pounds. Despite the exact same caloric intake. Then I had constant nausea and abdominal pain. This went on for 2-3 years until I had an acute gallbladder attack with pancreatitis. I had to wait 4 months as they thought that I had bile duct cancer and finally had it removed by an Oncology surgeon. The symptoms remained however. It took another couple of years then the nausea resided and I was able to gain back about 25 pounds. Has your gallbladder been assessed? And your blood work is normal? Liver enzymes, etc.? It may be a long journey but have faith. You'll get there. The important thing is to have doctors you trust that are the best in their field. You should be in the care of a gastroenterologist. I wish you the best of luck. God bless you.
Gosh, I feel for you! I had to have my gallbladder removed years ago. I'm seeing a gastroenterologist, but the procedure that I NEED [already done the other tests] I have to wait three months for! I'm down to 83, even though I'm making myself eat more. They always tell me my blood work is normal. Thanks for your encouragement.
@dorma
I have been dealing with nausea and feeling full, no appetite for 3 years.
Initially I had other GI symptoms that were caused by celiac artery stenosis (caused by MALS- another story). After a stent was placed most symptoms disappeared except for those associated with nausea. My GI did an endoscopy to check for signs of cancer- none seen.
I had a gastric emptying test- normal.
I have also lost weight.
This week I saw my GI again and he said that even though the gastric emptying test was normal, there still could be a problem. Now I’m trying to take Regan twice a day before meals. There seems to be an improvement. Regan is used for nausea and it speeds up the stomach emptying.
Last year I had a couple of weeks of intense nausea and I was bedridden for a week. That was different. I thought it was associated with “ gravel” in my bile duct. No gallbladder. One day it was better. If I have another episode like that my GI wants to see me at once do they can look at the bile duct.
Did you have a gastric emptying test? It tests for possible gastroparesis.

1 ReactionI too have had rather constant nausea since I had open heart surgery in June. I found that Anti Nausea Sea Bands gave me great relief, as well as the cannabis-derived substance RSO, which you can buy at a dispensary (if you have access to one) under various names and formulas. I prefer the Baked Bros RSO gummies. A full gummy can make me very lightheaded; if I eat less than 1/2 of a gummy in the late afternoon, dinner seems to go down much better and I don't feel stoned.

1 Reaction@astaingegerdm I was diagnosed with gastroparesis a few years ago. To be honest; it appears my doctor just doesn't care. Having to wait three months for an endoscopy when I'm having issues seems a bit extreme.

3 months! That’s ridiculous.
If you are able to, maybe look for a new doctor.
I first saw the local doctors years ago for other issues- not happy with them so next I went to Mayo as well as another university hospital. Now I see a GI at a university hospital closer to home and so far I’m happy.

1 ReactionUnfortunately, she is the only one of her kind in our area. But I am seriously considering going to another area.
@dorma 3 months with this will feel like an eternity. Try to get a doc who will respond more quickly ! Worth the effort .

1 Reaction@dorma are you also drinking supplements? That is way too thin and your gastroenterologist should have recommended some for you. I can't remember what mine were but I got them from Amazon. Also have you tried ginger? It works qonders for nausea. You're in my prayers. Get well soon.

1 Reaction@cyndigarrison I do like to liquefy some foods, but I don't think about it enough. I do not like ginger at all, but perhaps I find a way to tweak it? thanks!
