Benign carcinoid tumor in bronchi tube
Hi I've been diagnosed with a benign typical carcinoid tumor in my bronchi tube in right lung was found when I went to A&E with pneumonia back in July of this year I've had 2 bronchoscopys 2 biopys which showed benign carcinoid tumor I was sent for ct scan mri scan and pet scan pet scan was clear I was put under general anesthetic as my lung specialist said he might be able to remove tumor by going down my throat instead of haven surgery but didn't work but he was able to take 40% of tumor out as it was blocking my air way that's how pneumonia set in the 40% he removed also came back benign carcinoid 1 lymph node was removed and checked also clear now I need surgery to remove the rest I'm so confused as doctor said its a benign tumor then Google is telling me it's a low grade cancerous tumor but doctor nor lung specialist said anything about cancer just said its benign doesnt benign mean non cancerous and can any one tell me how surgery went thank you bless you all xx

@jessie1990 Jessie, how is your anxiety?
@jessie1990 Yes ma'am. Nothing stood out as different. Unless the nodules they found were not the same ones I was already told about

1 Reaction@nannybb still super super bad and I've also got lung pain but gp said its more my lower ribs because when I press on the area it hurts also
@jessie1990 Jessie, did they pull your ribs apart at all?
@jessie1990 I asked the acupuncturist today if she thought it was nerve pain in the ribs themselves, or the muscles between the ribs. She said she feels it is both. She also can feel in my body that I am super stressed. I have to find a new roommate and move to another apartment. 🥴

1 Reaction@nannybb I don't no is my pain the same I'm so annoyed 😒
@nannybb nope went down my throat to remove it but only could remove half of it so now I've to wait for more surgery to get the rest out the waiting is making my anxiety sky high 🥹
@jessie1990 Well, truthfully, the surgeon has not said for sure why he thinks I still have such pain lingering. My son was the one that got in touch with the specialist in NETs at the University hospital. He called them back yesterday and they have set up an appointment to see me on Dec. 1st. The doctor must have changed his mind. It is a totally different healthcare system, but my insurance will cover it. I sure hope he can give me some answers as to why I still have such pain. I also want to see if he will take over my case. If the other nodules start growing, I want a specialist in this type of cancer. I'm not sure what my original surgeon will think when he finds out. Everyone should be able to get a second opinion without being judged. Wish I had known about other options from the beginning. I'm sorry you still have pain and you are going through doubts too. 🙏🙏

1 Reaction@jessie1990 Have they given you an exact date for more surgery? I wake up anxious, and sometimes go to bed that way. I HAVE to work. I don't have another option. I know $$ is a lot of my worrying.
I think some of my anxiety is just in not getting firm answers. I can't imagine having to wait as long as you have been for more surgery. And you have a family to care for. 🙏🙏
