Anyone knows : Test negative after big 3 regiman treatment for 12 mo

Hi All, I am new to taking 3 antibiotics and Arikayce medications for my MAC disease. I will start taking medication tomorrow. Would anyone know any patients test negative after 12-18 months treatment? Completely cured?

I have never produced any sputum either. I had nodules in lungs. Doc did biopsy wash. Negative for cancer but positive for mycobacterium intracellulare. (MAI). Scheduled for another broncoscopy in December. No biopsy this time.
Nov 25th marks one year on meds.
I was told ct would show nodules forever and Bronchoscopy was only way to confirm only if infection was gone. I live in a town that doesn’t have good resources and I do not have a choice in doc.
What else can I do?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

@arkie01 , I used 7 ％sodium chloride solution, and huff coughing technique, it helps bringing up a little sputum. I don’t cough much and no sputum as well. If you can get them, hopefully you don’t have to get another bronchoscopy.

Thank you. Pulmonary nor ID doc have ever mentioned the sodium solution and I only got the the aerobika because I saw it on here and asked the pulmonary doc what it was & where I could purchase one. No therapy to show how to use it…. Hopefully, I can find a video on line that has good instructions.

Yep. I was negative after taking antibiotics for 9 months. Now I have ABPA.
