Benign carcinoid tumor in bronchi tube
Hi I've been diagnosed with a benign typical carcinoid tumor in my bronchi tube in right lung was found when I went to A&E with pneumonia back in July of this year I've had 2 bronchoscopys 2 biopys which showed benign carcinoid tumor I was sent for ct scan mri scan and pet scan pet scan was clear I was put under general anesthetic as my lung specialist said he might be able to remove tumor by going down my throat instead of haven surgery but didn't work but he was able to take 40% of tumor out as it was blocking my air way that's how pneumonia set in the 40% he removed also came back benign carcinoid 1 lymph node was removed and checked also clear now I need surgery to remove the rest I'm so confused as doctor said its a benign tumor then Google is telling me it's a low grade cancerous tumor but doctor nor lung specialist said anything about cancer just said its benign doesnt benign mean non cancerous and can any one tell me how surgery went thank you bless you all xx

@jessie1990 My surgeon this week mentioned having a shot of cortisone for the pain in my ribs. He is going to reevaluate in 3 weeks. You must be in awful pain. Is there anything you can do that helps?
@jessie1990 Is part of it because of homelessness? Rents here are horrible, and many people just pitch a tent, actually most anywhere. I feel so sorry for people in that condition. Not all people are on the streets because they are drug users. Lots of people are living paycheck to paycheck and have simply lost their jobs. I have been out of work for about 6 months with lung complications. Nothing like it sounds like you are going through. That, to me is also quite scary.
@jessie1990 I know about the anxiety over the cancer. I just wanted them to get it out and for me to go back to work. The pain is holding me back, but so is being tired. Having fibromyalgia doesn't help, but the money situation is quite worrisome. I've been battling with the insurance company. Frustrating when you are already in pain.
@nannybb I've been told about this tumor in July it's now November and it's stil there well half of it is gone but the other half is still there yes one lymph node where tumor is has been tested it was clear doc said more then likely all the rest are to yes the anxiety is so bad having to wait
@nannybb yes me to so i just stay for maybe 2 drinks max then I'm gone home don't like fighting the min something starts I'm gone out the door that's why i don't go to pubs very often
@jessie1990 I had two doctors. One was a pulmonary specialist who had to go down and put dye on the tumor area. No idea how long that took. Then the surgeon did his thing. I asked how long it all took because I had lots of pain on the underside of my right arm. I honestly couldn't even touch that area. I thought perhaps he had taken out a lymph node there. (He did take 5, but not from under my arm). All he could figure was perhaps me having to be in the position I was in for surgery, which he said took about 3 hours might have caused the arm pain. Pain the acupuncturist has helped. One weird thing happened before surgery. The pulmonary doctor could tell I was afraid. He asked if I wanted something for the anxiety. I said yes. Whatever he gave me put me totally out even before I went down to the OR. So, in a round about way, I have no idea how long it all took. I don't even remember being in recovery. I've had several operations.....
operations for different things, and none were like this from the very beginning.
@nannybb yes my lung hurts but I've had pneumonia in that lung also along with partial collapse and also had abcess to along wit the tumor so maybe that's why my lung hurts I was taking antiflams but didn't help so I take pain killers paracetamol I don't no do they do that where you live
@jessie1990 My son said there was really good music in the pubs he went to. That would be fun, at least for me. Drinking, fighting? I'll pass.
@nannybb was the 5 lymph nodes involved to or were they clear I hope they give me something to to help calm me down because I'm super afraid I've had surgery when I was 10 for my tonsils and I've had emergency C section on my youngest that was the only 2 surgery's I had
@nannybb music is good 😊 just all depends on the pub you go to some are quite some are mental here all youngsters mainly then they get to messy and aggressive looking to fight
