Benign carcinoid tumor in bronchi tube
Hi I've been diagnosed with a benign typical carcinoid tumor in my bronchi tube in right lung was found when I went to A&E with pneumonia back in July of this year I've had 2 bronchoscopys 2 biopys which showed benign carcinoid tumor I was sent for ct scan mri scan and pet scan pet scan was clear I was put under general anesthetic as my lung specialist said he might be able to remove tumor by going down my throat instead of haven surgery but didn't work but he was able to take 40% of tumor out as it was blocking my air way that's how pneumonia set in the 40% he removed also came back benign carcinoid 1 lymph node was removed and checked also clear now I need surgery to remove the rest I'm so confused as doctor said its a benign tumor then Google is telling me it's a low grade cancerous tumor but doctor nor lung specialist said anything about cancer just said its benign doesnt benign mean non cancerous and can any one tell me how surgery went thank you bless you all xx

@nannybb that's in west cork it's a beautiful place
@tomrennie Right? The key for me is keeping my eyes closed the ENTIRE time. I think the big difference between scans and a plane is obviously you are a zillion miles up in the sky in which any number of things can go wrong. But I agree, the feeling mentally can be the same.
@jessie1990 I don't know what the term "key hole" means. I found out that they ended up doing a wedge of my lower right lobe.
What I don't understand is putting in 6 rows of staples. He said this past visit, they removed 3 of the rows. After I left his office my brain went to: How ? When? I coughed after surgery pretty badly until they did an aspiration down my back with a tube and needle. I think they took the chest tube out too early.

1 Reaction@jessie1990 Are you taking anything for the anxiety? Mine has gotten a bit better, but when it hits, there is no way to describe it, unless you have personally experienced it. It can be awful! Doctors here in Portland hesitate to give you anything any more,
but I can buy street drugs on just about any corner. Makes sense.🤔
@jessie1990 Very. I'm going to have took at a map.
If they remove the two lobes, what will that mean for you? Will that completely resolve the situation?
@nannybb ya me to I use have a social life many years ago before I had my kiddies 🤣🤣 but the hangovers oh my God lord even thinking of it makes me want to vomit 🤢
@nannybb key hole means just doing like 3 holes to remove it instead of maken a big cut
