Migraines and tingling in the body
My daughter has been having migraines lately. One lasted 2 days. She is also experiencing tingling in parts of her body. What could this be? She is making an appointment with her doctor but it won't be a while before she is seen. Does anyone have any ideas? She is 34 and has a 9 month old baby.

I am so sorry your daughter is going through a bad time. I have migraines which my hands start to tingle and the Neurologist says this is from in my hands inflammation and possibly nerve compression. I also see spots so I have to have a dark room and put a warm cloth over my eyes. Sometimes my migraines last 3 days depending if I can catch it beforehand and take medicine.
I have been on a lot of medication for migraines. I have learned to advocate for myself and it has gotten a lot easier standing up for myself. I recommend if your daughter can get on Nurtec and Quilitpa which is my medication. Nurtec is my emergency medicine and is a preventative and takes the migraine away. Quilitpa is my nightly medicine.
I hope your daughter starts feeling better soon and finds the right medicine soon.
Hang in there, it does get better!

1 ReactionSo sorry she is experiencing this. I get migraines frequently which I control with Botox every 3 months, Aimovig injections once per month and Ubrelvy as needed for breakthrough headaches. Mine are caused by cervical dystonia - which is chronic muscle spasms of my neck and upper back. It used to be called occipital outlet syndrome - there bundles of nerves that leave the spine and go through notches in the skull up to the brain. When all the muscles in that region are in spasm, they compress those nerves which fires off the migraines - and can also trigger numbness or tingling in the extremities. It could be that this is what your daughter is experiencing.
@melissa123,
Last 5 years 24x7 headaches/ migraine my "new normal". I have tingling and tremors in hands and internal tremors/ vibration. If I try to read or work on computer for more than 30 - 45minutes, strong burning sensation top front of brain. I also found correlation between the weather atmospheric pressure (up or down - weather app) and pressure on brain. Been working with Neurologist (CT Scan and blood work) and now added Immunologist (additional blood work - very interesting) to figure out.
Had major sinus surgery (2 ENTs, 1ENT assistant, 6 hours computer GPS guided), Dry Needling on back top neck muscle 20 weekly sessions, Vision checked - minor adjustment to prescription. Many moving pieces to the picture.
Relief - I had first Vyepti Infusion (once every 3 months), Wonderful! Pain level of 8 down to 4, which increased to steady 6 after 30 days. 2nd Vyepti Infusion in couple of weeks. Note: The two previous Migraine Infusion, very strong, but little relief.
Everyone is unique. I found that I have to push through, thinking positive with a side of sarcasm.
It’s a journey, Best Wishes for Your Journey!
