Post COVID: Anyone experiencing internal vibrations?
I have had long covid for over two years and a symptom began sporadically during the initial seven weeks that has worsened since a second covid experience. It began as a “flutter” in my chest upon waking, lasting 5 seconds or so. It is not painful just a new sensation I have never experienced. After getting covid again in February 2022, the internal vibrations have become full body and go on for forty seconds. It is always upon waking or falling asleep temporarily during meditation and waking again. Long Covid retired me from my profession and I am not under any stress. I had a recent cardiac incident (also due to long Covid) and wore a Holter monitor. I triggered it whilst having an IV incident: definitely not cardiac induced. Has anyone else experienced IV like this?

Here is a link from last year (Yale Study) on vibrating legs. https://www.yalemedicine.org/news/long-covid-symptoms-internal-tremors-and-vibrations
I’ve been doing the research for over 3 years and finally, someone has taken notice. My legs began ever so subtle after a mild case of Covid over 3 years ago. I was encouraged by ID to get immunised x 2 even though I had natural immunity. Honestly, the medical profession did not understand then what they do now. What happened to me was the vibrations became quite pronounced after booster. I have sworn off any further Covid vaccines. But this is my opinion and choice. The Body Keeps Score. Listen to yours.
Oddly enough, I began taking Vit D3 again (I live in Ireland with very little sunshine) which is critical for bone and muscle health and plays a vital role in immune function. PMR is an immune issue though still not understood completely. It has not until recently garnered the attention of Lupus or RA etc. That said, the vibrations are scaled down from a 10 to a 2 and no pain. Who knew? Placebo? Perhaps.
I’m sorry to hear you wasted your time with 3 different neurologists. Read the Yale study. The answers are coming.
I also ordered a copy of Dr Kate Gilbert’s book PMR/GCA second addition which came out in 2016. Someone on this forum mentioned her and I immediately ordered her book. It’s been a life raft for me on every level. There is also a website. You can google her. She is also coming out with a new addition given the rise in PMR/GCA awareness and incidence. Covid driven? I think for some of us it is.
May you find your path to wellness.

1 ReactionI’ve had Long Covid for going on 3 years in December (2022 contracted Covid). I lost my taste and smell on day 2 of the virus and still don’t have it back. I also had other symptoms of Long Covid like body tremors, stuttering, brain fog, fatigue, hives, sleeplessness. Most of these symptoms have subsided, but what remain are the body tremors if I over exhort myself and the loss of taste and smell. I had 7 Stellate Ganglion Block injections over time and they helped a lot with the body tremors and I am much better. I had these done over time at Northwestern Chicago’s Pain Management Clinic. If anyone is struggling with these body tremors, I would highly suggest having the SGB (Stellate Ganglion Block) injections. The injections are positioned by guided Ultrasound into your parasympathetic nerves in your neck and alternate sides each time you have one done. I asked to have a twilight sleep as my B/P goes up before I have this procedure. They obliged.

1 Reaction@tls5alex thank you!
This is the best explanation I have heard - I also did the holter monitor and nothing showed up when I was experiencing what I call palpitations. Docs have no idea what it really is
"Although the heart itself does not typically vibrate in the way a muscle might, the mechanical forces generated during heart contractions can produce measurable vibrations that propagate through the chest wall.
These vibrations are normally not felt, but heightened sensitivity due to anxiety or other conditions can make them perceptible."

1 Reaction@pattiobrien111 thank u for that information!!!
@that is fascinatin cuz i often thought it was my heart vibrating. I am currently in a pain mngmt program. About controlling the sensations thru mind control and stimulating the parasympathetic system. I do yoga. I meditate. I keep my world small but not isolated and i can not control the vibrating. My heart and breath yes!! I have also pondered the idea could it be inner shingles on the lining of my abdomen. It kinda feels like the vibrating i used to get on my lips hours before a cold sore would break out. But on a much larger area and more intense. My PT at neuro institute thought it could be the heart. The intensity does increase with stress or intense emotions but it has started out of the blue when i am so relaxed and feeling joy. Then im like man!!! Not fair when ur trying so hard to stay peaceful.

1 Reaction@pdoubrava If you are a woman, I experienced internal vibrations when I was perimenopausal at age 38. Progesterone cream quieted the internal vibrations. At age 51 I was put on biest (estrogen) also.

1 Reaction@susanmaria i am a way past menopause female. Will be 60 in jan. Had a complete and total hysterectomy right before pandemic. My sister went thru breast cancer when she was 33. She is now 57 🙂 i have been in breast research studies for many years first at hopkins. My sisters cancer was aggressive and hormone receptor positive. We were worried my pregnancy at 39 would activate cancer. I drove 1.5 hrs every 2 months to hopkins for them to physically check my breasts. Then i got in a local study and it has been a blessing. Alternate between mammograms and then the better imaging for very dense breasts. I was so grateful that they did the hysterectomy. The periods were brutal at the end and we did not want anymore hormones. I am sorry to hear of ur issues with hormones at such a young age! Stay strong
control ur breath is important. Pay attention to when u should be inhaling and exhaling. Hope this helps.
