Does anyone have a solution to help manage Reclast side effects?

Posted by dingus @dingus, Aug 15, 2024

Does anyone have a solution to combat Reclast side effects. I had the infusion a year and a half ago and the side effects started shortly after I had the infusion. I still have weak legs, swelling in feet, pain in bones, dizziness (serious dizziness), cold sweats, tired all the time and nervous twitching in bones. Any suggestions?

Reclast causes femur fractures BEWARE! I know since it happened to me twice after being on RECLAST for 3 years. NOVARTIS knows this but is more interested in making money.

Why not a bone builder med like tymlos, forteo or evenity. Sequencing is very important with Osteoporosis drugs.. what was the rational for starting with reclast? Have you read any of McCormick s material.

I try over and over again to get women off of RECLAST! IT CAUSES FEMUR FRACTURES IN OLDER WOMEN.I know this since it has happened to me twice. That was after 3 years on this terrible infusion! Several doctors told me after the femur breaks it was Atypical fractures from RECLAST. GOOGLE the reports on this. Novartis drig company is out for money in regard to RECLAST. The femur bone starts aching and u think it is just a side effect and one day it will just Crack from walking BEWARE PLEASE!@

Ive been on alendronate, forteo, evenity and two injections of Prolia. I have been on bhrt for about one year. Although my primary reason for starting bhrt was not for my bone health, I know that it will yield some help for my bones. I am considering a plan where I make a transition from prolia. Possibly by taking a low dose of reclast to help offset prolia rebound, then go back to an anabolic. At 77 I dont feel ready to be on prolia until I die.

To be very honest, I am kinda blown away with all the bone meds you have taken and are taking. I think that would have killed me. Reclast gave me afib and I was sick for six plus months. I hurt so badly during that time. That is what put me on a journey in a different direction. I asked the doctor who prescribed if a man that weighed 200 plus pounds would receive the same dose that I received and she said yes. I weigh 114 lbs and I am 5 ft. 4 in. It wasn't a good mix. I took an online program that was everyday for three months and learned a lot. That gave me more determination to go the natural way. There was a lot of information to digest. I pray that you will be okay. What are your dexa scores??

We each have to find a way that works for us. So interesting isn't it. Yes, I have taken alot. They have worked well for me and I have never had much in the way if side effects. My greatest gains were on Evenity. I am having a new dexa scan next month and will try to report back. I hope that your path works well for you. Take care.

I wish you well. It's a blessing that you have had very little to no bad
side effects. Had I not experienced what I did I would have likely
continued with that course of action. Bless you in your journey. I wish
you great health and all things good.

I had my infusion a week ago. I have used ice with some success. My hands and wrists are swollen. No medical professional seems to have any answers.

@estelle17
Reminds me of one of the 2024 Shkreli award winners. I saw an expanded explanation last year but not now.

"Amgen’s Lumakras Pricing: The pharmaceutical giant was criticized for promoting a 960mg dose of its cancer drug Lumakras, despite evidence that a lower 240mg dose offered the same efficacy with fewer side effects. The higher dose costs $180,000 more per patient annually."
