I’m so sorry for what you and your son endured. I hope you were able to file insurance claims against other driver and a lawsuit for your injuries that could have been prevented. You should have never been expected to walk in an unsafe area just to get a license. Your car should have been safely moved to the shoulder with a tow truck.

Is the pain in your buttock and leg the same side or opposite side of the knee that was injured? Have you had MRIs of your lumbar spine and both hips/pelvis to see if there is any disc issues, spinal canal/nerve root compression or soft tissue injury/inflammation? Have you done any physical therapy or spine injections for pain? Be careful with ibuprofen because into too much too long and then diagnosed with esophagitis and gastritis erosions.

Thanks Hope,

It's not good to take NSAIDs for chronic pain. In addition to the GI issues, it is also hard on the kidneys. I only found this out after taking diclofenac for several months, first for a hip that was replaced, followed months later by a shoulder replacement.

Your response was spot on, especially the legal aspects. The cops should not have allowed this person to walk on a busy highway to get anything! It's a very unfortunate situation.
