Hormone Replacement starting at 75yrs old
Doing reach, I have decided to try HRT with testosterone, very low dose. I’m in pretty good health, but was diagnosed with Polymyalgia Rhuematica 2yrs ago. I’m Just trying to make a better life with what yrs I have left. There are so many positive messages out there, and yes I’m on the older side. I have 6 daughters and we have all been doing a lot of reading on this subject. Is there anyone else trying HRT at an older age?

A particular brand of B4? Always at bedtime? I've used Ancient Minerals Magnesium Lotion for many years on my calves. Works wonders.

Were you able to get bioidentical hormone therapy or did they send you to a functional doctor? Thanks for the info.
@blueskies1530 sorry I meant "before". I don't take b4.
@ramsgirl
She said I can do biodentical. Yet it would be out of pocket . I went what insurance would help with.

Where do you buy your magnesium
@swilkins1974
I buy my magnesium lotion from Amazon and my different types of magnesium tablets from Sprouts, Amazon and Vitacost.
@swilkins1974 I order it on Amazon. I think it's the best quality of all I've tried = LifeFlo (I like the vanilla scent too). Magn.is absorbed better transdermally than orally.

Thanks. I like Ancient Minerals. I take medications that cause some constipation so oral magnesium helps me wonderfully.
I had TAH (total abdominal hysterectomy) at age 45.
Have been on estrogen patch for 25 years now.
My experience has been very positive.
Am in the medical field and requested a total hysterectomy as ovaries, after childbearing needs, are a health hazard in many ways. They are cancer magnets for one.
Researched hormone therapies way back in the 90s. Discovered that keeping my uterus, cervix or ovaries makes hormone therapy more risky. I also had myself genetically tested for all cancers known thus far; luckily no red flags.
My hormone therapy - in my experience (I take ONLY estradiol) - has been such a positive experience I am planning to keep using it until I reach 100; reassessing every 5-10 yrs of course. At that point I am hoping they will have discovered I have a longevity gene.
