@stealthycat do you drink it daily or only when have pain/discomfort? I drink it when pain but wondering if should drink it daily.
Something that occurred tonight that hadnt is lower left side felt some like fluttering if that makes sense. Maybe it was gas but few times felt that, no pain. Did feel gassy overall. So anxiety was taking over. I’m listening to sleep music now in hopes it’ll help calm me and get some sleep.

1 Reaction@piscesemr it might be time to see a colon Dr. The sad part of this is you will eliminate so many things with every episode. You do need to determine how much damage you do have.
My go to tea was chamomile and peppermint tea. Eat small meals and drink plenty of fluids.
When you do start feeling that pain it is best for liquid diet for a couple of days. If you have a fever, you should have the Dr. do a blood test. It is vital to check the inflammation and WBC to determine if you need antibiotics and inflammatory meds.

2 Reactions@linda82 thank you, I actually have primary Dr appt tomorrow for follow up of another issue, I’ll ask for bloodwork form, I didn’t have fever this past weekend but I do want to know wbc reading. Colon dr would that be gastroenterologist? You said chamomile and peppermint were your go to teas, does that mean you no longer have episodes? If so it gives me hope. Did you drink those teas together or separately during episodes or daily teas? Do you recommend daily Metamucil at bedtime? When I first got diagnosed I was having Metamucil almost daily, I got gassy and bloated more often so I cut back. Then I switched to mineral oil which helps but I just want to find that maintenance routine that’ll help consistently. I need to be more mindful of what I eat, I’m good for most part during week but some weekends I fall off track sometimes with snack or meal and sometimes gas city with some pain. My own doing that I need to stop.
@piscesemr Glad no fever and yes, I have not had an episode since my surgery. Now I still have my teas. But, those two are great if I had too much food that made me feel full or uncomfortable. I have never taken Metamucil. Truthfully, that would have made me scared of being back up. I did take chewable Pepto tabs to be able to get of the house. (instead of running to the bathroom and the pain)
Do not put yourself down on things you have eaten that may have triggered it. It really isn't the "food/snack" it is the pockets that it gets stuck in and the infection it can cause.

@thw any herbs
I just want to add that I love the Yerba Prima brand of organic psyllium husks. They were one of the top picks recommended by Consumer Lab. Nice clean taste with no sugar, artificial sweeteners or colors. It does need to be drunk quickly, but I've gotten used to that. I generally eat a very high fiber diet, but my doctor told me to take this in addition and drink a lot of water.
