Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect, @brooklynchristopher. I'm sorry to hear about the pain you've experienced.
Makes sense you are trying to find anything sensible that has helped others. Has anything you've been prescribed or done helped calm the pain at all?
Hi. My husband has diverticulosis. He had been continuing to loose weight. Pain in his lower abdomen Finally a doc decided to do an endoscopy and determined he has celiac disease.
Hope you feel better soon

3 Reactions@suez IBGard is a lifesaver for me. Not only for IBS but for my diverticulitis. I use that and Florastor.

1 Reaction@stealthycat Hello, maybe I’ll try IBGard again. Thanks
@suez You’re welcome…I take that and the Florastor and it really does help. Most GI doctors are now beginning to realize that the probiotics do really work! Good luck!

1 Reaction@stealthycat - I do not have diverticulitis, but I took that gut health supplement (IB Gard) when I was having severe cramping and churning in my gut from taking semaglutide (Wegovy). My GI doctor recommended it, and I found it helpful.
@dmmeyers62 - Have you tried mint tea and dandelion tea for inflammation? If so, did it help?

2 ReactionsPeppermint tea helps me most of the time. Someone suggested 2 tablespoons Metamucil in warm at bedtime so I’m going to try that. I also drink mineral oil when feel haven’t fully emptied. Sometimes I also drink green tea. Sometimes I feel lost with this condition, other times I feel down plus anxious. I was diagnosed last year with diverticulosis after having colonoscopy. At initial visit with gastro Dr he guessed it was diverticulosis from symptoms and he was right. When I feel pain on left side I get anxious thinking the worse. Earlier this year I had scan because of pain & it confirmed diverticulosis. Since last year when diagnosed I stopped eating nuts, popcorn, all seeds. I do have days where I eat something I shouldn’t and sometimes have discomfort and of course regret it. I have to improve on being consistent to make better choices. For most part I feel I’ve improved but still room for improvement. Tonight I’m up due to discomfort, mind goes where it shouldnt, thinking I should make appt with dr and ask if should get scan to make sure this hasn’t worsened. Appreciate any feedback and suggestions. I get anxious sometimes worrying about this.
