All symptoms but negative EMG
My symptoms scream neuropathy (no numbness yet) and I am believed to have early stage which does not necessarily show up on EMG. Has anyone experienced this? I have pretty bad foot pain and cannot tolerate socks or shoes without discomfort

Perhaps Fibromyalgia?
Thank you for your response but not consistent with fibro symptoms. Very consistent with peripheral neuropathy symptoms. Issue only in feet. I have an appointment with a neurologist in December.
@sensitive - What you describe sounds a little like the symptoms of Erythromelalgia - Erythromelalgia: The syndrome of red, hot feet (and sometimes hands) - https://www.mayoclinic.org/erythromelalgia-video/vid-20153039.
@jamie19901 started another similar discussion here and may have some suggestions - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/neuropathy-in-feet-1/. @jlander, also mentioned similar symptoms in another discussion here and may have some experience to share with you.

@johnbishop
Thank you for suggestion but my feet are not at all red. They only get burning sensation after being in an enclosed sneaker for too long. Feet cannot tolerate being confined, which is unfortunate since winter is coming!

1 Reaction@sensitive - I would hate to think about winter with no shoes on, yikes! There are also a lot of discussions and comments on burning feet that you might want to scan through to see if it sounds familiar - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/search/?search=burning+feet
There is an older discussion in the search link above on burning feet syndrome that has a lot of different causes and is similar to your symptoms - https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/symptoms/17773-burning-feet-syndrome.
Hello,
Sorry for what you’re going through and I can definitely sympathize with you. I had 2 EMGs. The one from last year did not show anything even though I had definitely started having the condition. However, the one I had back in February of this year definitely showed the condition and confirmed it. I’m guessing the condition has to unfortunately reach a certain point before the EMG can detect it.
Wishing you the best.
Take care and have a serene rest of your week,
gus

1 ReactionHello again,
You are most welcome and I hope your condition will be a mild one and hopefully easy to manage.
Take care,
gus
I don't think it feels particularly mild but after hearing what other people go through, I guess it is. My feet are constantly uncomfortable, whether I am using them or not. Thank you for sharing and caring.

1 ReactionI have spinal compression and severe stenosis. I saw 2 orthopedic dr’s. That said a fusion is a possibility but they don’t even discuss how it could help my feet. I know several people that had a fusion didn’t help the neuropathy and actually made it worse. I am going to see a Neurologist to see what he thinks is next month.
