Anyone use the Coloplast ostomy belt? I'm having issues with it
Hi all,
I recently switched from using Hollister urostomy bags to Coloplast ones. Coloplast sent me samples for the two piece bags which I am now using. In the samples was the belt, part number 1215. The belt was supposed to have a clip for the holes in the wafer on both sides. This is what the Coloplast website shows. The belt I received had a clip on one side and a slot on the other side. I called Coloplast and was sent 2 more belts with the same configuration. A clip on one side and a slot on the other. When I ordered from my supplier Bryan, I got the same configuration, one side clip other side slot.
Has anyone who uses Coloplast had the same problem? I’ve contacted two people at Coloplast about this and have not received a good response, I have even sent them a picture from the website showing the clips on both sides. I feel like I am speaking a different language to them. I have taken a Holister belt and was able to modify it to work. I should not have to do that, but I can’t get Coloplast to understand the issue.

I used Hollister's belts a few times but ended up buying on Amazon Ostomy support bands, that gave my ostomy support Help to keep from getting hernia's. I am including the link from Amazon.

1 ReactionNot quite sure what you mean. I have been using coloplast ostomy products for years including belts. Mine has clips on both ends that attach to each side of base plate. Never had a problem with their products. Foss

2 ReactionsByrams has a catalog on their website. This is where all the Ostomy products are purchased. If you have an account with them for your products you can do a search for the belt, then place an order for that specific belt.
Let me know if you are not successful, I have 4 and will send you one. Size is 40 and of course, adjustable. Laura
Actually, the belt number is 4215. The belt I received from Byram is the correct belt.It still has the notation on the bag that it only has a single clip so I didn't bother to open it. So, the belt that Coloplast sent me has only 1 clip like the description on the bag says.
@lauramae3 Hi Laura. Thanks for the offer. I finally opened the belt I received from Byram and it was correct. It still had the notation on the package that it only had one tab but it has two.

1 ReactionI'm soooo happy. It's bad enough to deal with the pouch without other problems. Happy for you. Laura
Sounds frustrating! The belts I use attach to tabs on the pouch; my barriers don't have tabs, but use adhesive to stay on. Hollister and ConvaTec make my belts, and they're available on Amazon, amongst other vendors. Maybe one of these pouch-purposed belts would also work with a tabbed barrier.
@colleenyoung Hi Colleen. I finally went and opened the Brava belt that my supplier, Byram, sent me. Well, I discovered that even though the description on the package said it only had one tab, it actually had two and I’d the correct belt. I didn’t bother opening it before because of the description. So, I’m good with the belt. Thanks for your efforts.

1 ReactionI use the ConvaTEC two-piece; the belt has two tabs, as your pictures show. Try asking Byram to send you the ConvaTEC belt.
I did contact my forum and heard nothing back. Also my Canadian supplier said there had been no responses from urostomy folks. Sorry.
