Does anyone have any tips for pre and post op TURP procedure?
I’m thinking about catheter pain, pants to wear post procedure, and any other tips to make the process as comfortable as possible. I’m a bit terrified.

I had two rezums over a fews. It worked for awhile. Recently had aquablation. Good choice if you prostate is a little too big for rezum to work well.
I had a catheter from December 2023 until January 2025. It was changed every month. Only had a problem one time. Nurse couldn't get it out. Doctor was called and he couldn't get it out so he grabbed and yanked twice. Talk about pain. Blood every where. I had ridden my motorcycle because I had the catheter changed numerous times before with no problem. I'll avoid the details but I couldn't ride the motorcycle for 2 weeks. Couldn't golf for two weeks. I looked up in the NIH what the procedure should have been in such a situation. The proper procedure is to send the patient to the hospital emergency. They have the means to remove a stuck catheter. I had the catheter replaced about 5 times after that episode with out any problems.
I liked not having to get up during the night with the catheter. I disliked changing the catheter monthly. The bag itself was no problem.

It felt like someone withdrew a double-edged sword through me. This wasn't uncomfortable. It wasn't painful. It wasn't annoying. This shot through me like a baseball bat embedded with razors at various angles. I've broken bones, torn ligaments, 2 ankle reconstructions, stitches in my lip, torn tendons in my rotator cuff, run into football players full speed. {I enjoyed that.} Nothing compared to this. Totally agony.
My peeing is as uncontrollable as ever. No improvement. It's only been a week. Something doesn't seem right. I thought/expected to begin to have some control over the old flow.
