Hi Recently, my doctor told me to start Prolia and I like your sel found sideffects and high cost so I decide to take Fosomax which does have side effects but it is les expensive. I will not be taking this medication for too long as I’ve increased my exercises, vegetable consumption , timing my calcium supplements for better absorption. Additionally, I taking more Vit k which helps direct calcium into the bones. I’ve cut out coffee, and considerably reduced my alcohol consumption to 1/2 glass of wine with dinner. I also have appts with Rehab MD and a Feldenkrais class. Whatever I can do on my own I’ll be glad to do. I am very concern and looking forward to doing better. I can’t undergo the Bone density or another 24months so I’ll see how much my t-score is then. No one in this community has given any positive reports on these medications . It would be very hopeful for me to read a positive report. I would like to know how much of Vit D , Magnesium, and VitK. MY PCP didn’t say much to me other than “Don’t fall” and go to the gym more often. I was very disappointed in him or his lack of support and knowledge. He didn’t even refer me for Physical Therapy or Rehab.

I have not had any side effects that I am aware of from Prolia. After taking it for 2 years I still have Osteoporosis but my levels are better than they were 2 years ago. Before Prolia I took Bonviva for two years and my Osteoporosis got worse.

I have not met any Drs. that know anything about Prolia. You would think Orthopedic surgeons would know something but they don’t!
