I take a small sip of olive oil and swish in my mouth. I swallow mine but you could spit it out. My ENT said take some for sure before going to sleep. I keep 2 oz bottles from Walmart and fill them to place around the home.
Good evening @snowflake47, Just want you to know my Biotene "Biotene" helpers.
1. I never leave the bathroom without a quick shot of Biotene Spray. If I have a long drive or wait I make sure I have a sheet of Biotene Lozenges. I buy multiple tubes of the Biotene toothpaste on Amazon and big jars of the Biotene oral rinse with which I refill the small spray bottle. You might think I was an addict. No...just take about 15 pills every day to fight my aging issues and rehabbed body.
Sometimes my mouth is so dry that I start to choke. Out comes a Biotene product and I can keep going.
May you have peace in the mouth.
Chris
@rob2 did you find it helped taking oxybutynin for your incontinence? Also i was told about Botox ?
While I was undergoing a major dental renovation I would wake up 3-4 times a night to rinse the crud out of my mouth. The solution was giving my bedroom a deep cleaning to eliminate dust and adding a Hepa air filter. Additionally bought a chin strap to keep from being a mouth breather at night. This did not work well and started putting a piece of surgical tape over my mouth. This completely solved the problem and I have dry mouth no more.
I have experienced dry mouth for many years. I think it could be caused by a condition called Shogren’s (sp) Syndrome.
I have a dry mouth due to medications. I use Biotene lozenges and they help tremendously! Might be worth a try.
I also have dry mouth, at night, I put 1 piece Extra sugar free chewing gum plus 1 xmilt wrapped into gum. I place it in between my teeth an cheek. PLEASE don't chew!
I have Sjogrens, and my dry mouth never bothered me in the daytime, (pretty bad at night, keeping me from sleeping well). But, about 3 weeks ago, it got so bad during the day, too. I finally realized that I had started taking Claritin about that time. Quit taking it, so now I don’t have such a daytime dry mouth. Some relief !
Biotene mouth rinse was recommended to my husband by his Dentist. He’d swish with it before going to bed at night. Good to know they now have lozenges too.
