Do you take the 150 Trazadone with food at 10:00?
There was one night I took it as directed & still could not sleep
but that is only one night out of dozens so I think maybe I forgot
& did not take it with food.
@kayraymat You DO NOT want to experience a seratonin sydrome. I did, and it is one of the most God-awful experiences that lasted 4 days. More that likely your antidepressant is what is called an SSRI or SNRI that effects the seratonin neuroreceptors..... trazodone is not classified as either but it does have an impact on seratonin, hence the possibility of a seratonin storm. Please double check with your physician and again with the pharmacist if he makes any changes. You are very fortunate to have a pharmacist looking out for these types of things.
@kndaustin71
My Walgreen's pharmacist is a woman & she does take care.
She & the pharmacy assistant answer questions, remember our names,
and are generally VERY helpful. I even wrote a letter to Walgreens
commending them. ( I read you should do one kind act a day & that was mine.)

@kayraymat No I don't...I usually eat at 6pm but take the Trazadone at 10pm. I go to sleep around 10:30 and sleep through, although I usually get up once to go to bathroom but fall back
asleep until 6ish.

@mmwagner46
Me, too.
Go to sleep btw 9-10pm, & sleep until 6am,
But,
I am probably older than you, so go to the bathroom
at least two or three times during the night, but then fall right back
to sleep. Someone said Trazadone makes you sleep but does not
help you get to sleep. I find it does both...Hurrah!!

thank you - I see my "regular" doctor on Tuesday and will discuss with him.
right now, I'm planning to stop sleep meds altogether - they only give me side effects, and rarely a good night's sleep. Hopefully then I'll sleep better and longer. And feel much better overall. . .
With the 50 mg of Trazodone, it didn't kick in for 2-1/2 hours, and I only got about 5 hours of sleep. Felt miserable the next day. Not especially interested in going thru that again, with higher dose it could be worse?
Hydroxyzine which many people like, made me anxious and agitated, and I only got 3 hours of sleep. Lorazepam is very erratic - some nights good, others not. Ambien only gives me 4 hours of sleep, if that much. Used to work!
I appreciate your input -
@berekann per my Doctor continuing with lorazepam half milligram till the end of October. Then we will discuss trazodone, etc (It was another Doctor Who originally prescribed it) Maybe my doctor will recommend upping the dose to 100 mg or 125 mg. And maybe if I do, as some others have said, take it at 7 o’clock planning to go to sleep at nine or 9:30 PM.
Not sure If I’ll ever be able to get off meds, it’s been too many years relying on them to sleep
@mmwagner46
I got you beat by a few years.... 🙂

I take both Lorazepam & Trazodone.
I don't mind dying but I don't want to suffer....many folk say the same.
I feel so NORMAL after a good night's sleep, that I am thankful for the
scientist that discovered / developed these meds.

@kayraymat lorazepam is so erratic with me - some nights I sleep well, others not. Sometimes I get very anxious after I take it, afraid that it won’t work. Especially if I’d fallen asleep without it. Even when I do sleep well, I often feel groggy and lethargic the next day. Especially if I wake up way too early, like 4am.
Ambien worked very well for me, until it didn’t.
Thanks for your input!
