@cmarsh hi Cindy I been in Meloxicam for about 5 years. First due to knee arthritis then following knee replacement now 16 months ago. It helps with pain stuff and swelling. Has your doctor ever said anything to you about it affecting your kidney function or are you worried about long term use?

@irenesara Hello....I'm 73 years old and I'm going for quality of life versus quantity, I guess you could say. I am aware that it affects your kidneys and any long term use of NSAID's can contribute to a Gastrointestinal bleed, but I would be miserable if I didn't take it. I guess all I can say is it's a decision you have to personally make regarding side effects of most any medication. How old are you? Did the knee replacement take care of the pain? Do you have arthritis elsewhere? At this time my kidney function is still normal per blood tests done annually. Wishing you the best.....Cindy
