I just found this, today. I am a 68 yr. old male, smoker for 40+ years. Had sore throat for about 2-3 months. Went to family doctor, who couldn't see anything, but immediately sent me to an ENT specialist. He did the scope up thru my nose, and found a lesion on epiglottis. Did a biopsy a few days later, and it came back as a malignant neuroendocrine carcinoma, very aggressive type. Not supposed to be found in the throat. Not caused by smoking. Awaiting MRI and PET scan to see if it is anywhere else in my body. Then to discuss treatment options...radiation and/or chemo. I live in Akron, Ohio, and am dealing with Summa Health doctors. Hope you find out some answers soon, and hope it is not cancer.
