Medication resistant fibromyalgia
I have been on cymbalta for 5 years with breakthrough pain. I have tried gabapentin, pregabalin, diclofenac sodium, and currently coming off tramadol as it stopped working also.
I tore my meniscus in March and got a cortisone shot in it in June which helped a lot. Unfortunately it “wore off” after two months and that pain has caused a huge flare that I am currently dealing with. Any advice for me? I’m getting pretty frustrated 😣

Exactly. While some people improve because they sleep better and are given ANTIDEPRESSANTS for depression. I just wanted to be clear here...pain medicine ranges from acetaminophen to opiods.
It should state, Cymbalta, an antidepressant , helped me with pain.
There may be newly diagnosed, dont want to mislead anyone here!

I have FM as well as ankylosing spondylitis. I have been taking lyrica & celebrex as well as tramadol & cyclobenzaprine daily just to keep the pain “more manageable”. I also get qulipta infusions for migraine. These have helped me feel better but still nowhere close to normal. I am still in pain pretty much every day & have to really pace myself if I am doing anything that takes any bit of physical exertion—& take lots of breaks.
I feel like I’ve tried all the pain management options and nothing helped long term. What has helped is going to a Pilates studio 1:1 with a trainer and light pilates/yoga on the mat at home, massage, near infrared sauna, and cold plunge therapy. I’m hypermobile and have struggled with debilitating pain my entire life. Gentle exercise, hot and cold therapies, and medical marijuana are what help me the most. There’s lots of topical marijuana products that do not make you high and give almost instant relief. Hope this helps and you can find relief!
