Long QT Syndrome: Want to connect with others
Hello! I have Long QT Syndrome and I have a defibrillator implanted in my side. Water triggered my cardiac arrest both times. I just wanted to reach out and try to connect with others who share this same condition as myself.

Hi @cheymallery and everyone. I survived 3 cardiac arrests when I had just turned 22. After ruling out other factors it turns out Long QT Syndrome is the culprit! I’ve had a Medtronic defibrillator/pacemaker since September of 2006 and it’s been replaced 3x. I take Metoprolol to help control my heart rhythm and avoid caffeine at all costs most of the time. It’s nice to meet all of you! Glad to find other Long QTers!
