Anyone having any luck with treating PMR without any specific medicati

Posted by lindaadele @lindaadele, Aug 1 1:21pm

The reason why I’m asking this question is that no medication’s for PMR have done any good for me except to make me feel horrible and the pain was always still there. Some of the medication‘s worked at first and then they did not work. meanwhile I always felt not so good. Any information you could give me would be much appreciated! Thank you

i am also taking prednisone - for about two weeks now. Must say that most of the pain is gone, but i feel really loussy, weepy, heavy legs, heavy head, and not much energy.
hope to see a rheumatologist soon..... is this normal ??

Hi. I started a 7 day trial of 15mg prednisone on Tuesday. Was fine the first 2 days. Pain considerably better. Not so much in back though. Was able to raise arms and stiffness in legs gone.
3rd morning after dose was a different story.
Was just sitting quietly watching the news and my heart rate went up to 120. It really freaked me out. Called an ambulance. It went down to 100 then mid 90’s while they were here.
Advised to have ekg and electrolytes done.
Will do that Monday.
Doctor said stay off prednisone till Monday.
I’m not taking it again until I get my heart checked out.
Of course I’m very sore this morning.
