exercising while on ADT

Has anyone felt the benefits of eliminating fatigue while on ADT by regular exercise? I took ADT (camcevi) 2 years ago with radiation. I felt exhausted after 2 hours of manual labor. My PSA is up again and the Dr. is talking about the Embark trial which is ADT WITH ELAZUTANIDE.

Being on ADT twice, Lupron for 18 months and later Orgovyx for 12 months did not change what I did, only how I felt doing it.

In part, exercising while in ADT may be a function of whether you had an exercise lifestyle before starting in ADT, your overall health, attitude....

I went to the gym most days while on ADT, rode the indoor bike for 45-60 minutes, did resistance training, swam 1000 meters in the pool then hit the cold and hot tubs.

Other days I would ride my bike outdoors, 25-50 miles. Then there were the usual daily tasks, yard work, walking our dog...

Some things I did while in ADT:

Went skiing in Colorado with friends.
Rode the Garmin Unbound 50 with my sister.
Spent two weeks with my wife traveling the Ring Road in Iceland.

Did I experience fatigue, yes..
Did I experience muscle and joint stiffness, yes...

When "exercising" on ADT, pick things you like to do. I hate running, love riding my bike...

If your pre-ADT life was sedentary, start slow. Some people on the forum have enlisted the aid of a personal trainer.

You can find studies on the value of exercise as it relates to prostate cancer.

During the summer heatwaves, I just stirred a squirt of lemon or lime juice and a pinch of salt into each glass of water. Same idea.

I wonder. The 2 tablespoons of sugar should give a certain amount of energy. A squirt of lemon or lime juice doesn’t have nearly the amount of sugar, so it may taste ok but does it really give the surge of energy that you get with sugar?.

I go out running at 11 AM and 2 PM. I drink that electrolyte solution about 10:30 in the morning and at 2 PM. I can still jog all the way around the track without stopping.. Even at 3 PM after going to the gym, I can do it. If I don’t drink that liter of electrolytes, there’s no way I can Jog more than halfway around the track at any time without having to slow down and walk half the distance.

Where we live we don’t get heat waves, I’m lucky if it’s 70° here which it seldom is. Maybe that lemon/lime juice can quench your thirst a little bit because of the heat, Does it really give you much energy if you don’t put a significant amount of juice in?

If your heart is in good shape I recommend HIIT exercises. I do a 4x2 on a treadmill. Heart rate should max out at 85-90%. Takes care of all my symptoms if I did it a minimum of every 3 day. May take a while to build up to it. I also cycle, run and hike. To prevent muscle wasting I do weights most days of the week. At 76 I even got off my blood pressure meds. Just finished 2 years of Lupron Abriraterone and prednisone.
