Severe chronic back pain
Severe chronic back pain…I’ve suffered for years and have been told different things about my back pain, I was told taking weight off would help ive last 50 pounds and no relief if anything it’s getting worse. I’m having a hard time doing basic things without being in severe pain. I’ve done massage Acupuncture physical therapy serval times. Now I’m just frustrated about even going to the doctor cause nothing changes. It hurts to even walk and my big toes on both feet are numb. What should I do I’m losing hope and I don’t know how much more pain I can handle. Please help

Yes, and they worked great on me for about 15 years eventually I needed surgery when your nerves start getting crushed and it is seen on a simple MRI as the vertebrae‘s near each other (mine actually grew together when the disc fell completely out) you need to have a good orthopedic surgeon by then. Take the time to do what you can and the procedures that may or may not work and as much as exercise as you can possibly work in, it’s a slow go at first, but you’ll find that you can do more exercise than you think you can!
The worst thing happened i was on the Operating table and the cancelled my surgery as the 3 kits they had to go in my back were contaminated im devastated 💔
I completely understand your frustration. However the silver lining to this gray cloud is they caught the contamination before it was put in, that could have caused an infection and made things significantly worse for you. Like having a revision surgery or possibly something worse. Seems God was your backstop here and prevented you from future harm.
Hi. I know this post was from June, but my pain Dr does not want to even try Journauv on me because my pain is chronic (44 years and I’m 55). Has anyone with chronic pain tried this medication? If so any relief? My Dr said it is only approved for 14 days use. Like many have said, after decades of chronic pain, I’m willing to try anything. I’m on my second SCS, many lamenectomirs (nerves grow through my tumors so they cannot be removed), countless injections, PT, acupuncture, Botox injection into L4-5 area, you name it!)
I’m sorry to hear that. I don’t know what else to say. I know I was told the same thing it helped me, but they don’t wanna give it to me either. I took it for a while.
Thank you for the reply. Did you have any side effects or lasting pain relief? I’d join a trial in a heartbeat!
I do not have any good news. I had my L2-L5 fused. I have tried everything available and some even some unorthodox things. This Journauv did not work for me. It is new and extremely expensive. However, my PM doctor gave me a manufacturers card to try it for $30 so it was not such a burden to try and be disappointed.
sounds like your lumbar vertabrae are compressing on your discs and crushing your nerves. When your toes and feet get numb it is probably from major nerve roots exiting your spine now being crushed. See an ORTHOPEDID surgeon. They do a simple xray in their office and can isolate if your disc is being compressed. I had surgery and it was a mind-blowing success, but after 20 years of suffering, the nerves were very damaged.
Thank you for your reply. I’m so sorry to hear you got no relief. Also, I was not aware of the expense. I appreciate all of your info. Best of luck in your journey 🙏🏻
What type of surgery did you have and how was your recovery? In all my years of dealing with back pain and severe peripheral neuropathy, I don’t ever remember seeing an orthopedic. It’s definitely something I will look into to as well. Thank you so much for your info.
