Long Covid in daytime. Fine in evenings ?
Wondering if anyone else has this strange Long Covid symtom? I feel sick almost every day during daylight hours and then feel perfectly normal in the evenings starting around 4 to 5 pm for which I am so grateful. No major sleep problems. So confusing. Anybody else? Thanks so much.

6 ReactionsDear gregorb,
I've had Long Covid for five years. Apart from other symptoms, I also feel best at night....the later it is, the better I feel. Am very often totally exhausted and weak until early evening improvement begins. I often wondered how (and have tried) I could change this strange situation, but to no avail. Because of other severe medical complications I attempt to do what I can, whenever I can for as long as I can. So much for once being my family's "Energizer Bunny!" The "energy" in my batteries is drained, and I feel like I'm functioning on "fumes." Daily household chores have become night time activities. Sorry for the lack of advice, but hope knowing others feeling the same way may be heartening. No matter how you feel, you are NOT alone!!! Modern medicine has no answers, and the millions of Long Covid survivors have more information than the doctors. Our lives have changed forever, sometimes we are our own best diagnosticians, we have mental strength we never knew existed, and have a wealth of information that should be entered into all medical journals and classrooms. Without doctors paying attention to our knowledge, experiences and ways of coping, the world will be less than successful in dealing with the next world-wide affliction. When all of us pass, so will a wealth of knowledge that only we could have provided. How sad that the powers-that-be do not pay attention and learn from us. WE could inform and help future generations, but our wealth of first hand experiences and information proves that "A man (or woman) is not appreciated in his/her time." Don't give up or give in...WE are better than that.

10 ReactionsWell said. Hang in there. Thanks for the reply.
I just saw about this site this morning. Joined. And this is what I saw… the thing that was most confusing to me about my condition/symptoms: feeling better in the evening! Needing to do things during the day, but have to push myself through the most important things, resting regularly, not having a clear head as I’m trying to do things… and then start doing better in evening. (Not always a long period that’s better… it changes.) This post was immensely helpful to me.

1 ReactionI am an 85 year old woman who got Covid for the first time in March and have had symptoms every since. I was in excellent health before for somone my age other than typical age related arthritis . Fortunately, my Dr. agrees that I have long Covid but did just order a brain scan to rule out whatever else it could be. My symptoms now are all brain and cognitive related. Memory and hearing loss, brain fog and dizziness and pressure where I can't walk far or stand for long. Trouble concentrating and focusing. Having Overwhleming fatigue that when it hits I have to lie down. I find the experience of these symptoms unlike anything I have ever had and told my Dr. "I feel like my brain is too big to fit in my skull." I suppose the good news is I don't have to go to work and I can manage taking my dog out to poop and still can cook something and have someone come clean the house. I live alone and I don't think my friends, many of whom are my age understand at all how I am feeling and probably some wonder if I am imagining it. I appreciate the honesty and compassion I have found on this site, however, it is also scary to think I may live with this till I am no longer here. Meantime, I find great help with the book, How to be Sick, by Toni Bernhard. She reminds me to not create more suffering for myself by getting depressed and frustrated. Thanks to everyone who shares and it means alot to know I am not alone with this. My Dr. says that his patients who have this do get better. I so hope he is right .

4 ReactionsI actually have this same pattern most days. I have to rest a lot during the day. Always thought maybe the resting makes the evenings better(?)
Yes. The mornings are awful and I feel a bit better by evening.
