Has anyone tried Botox for headaches?

Was Botox successful? My doctor wants me to try it again. It did not work 8 years ago. I worry about the toxicity and my glaucoma and macular degeneration. Eye doc says it's okay, but they aren't his eyes.

I've been getting Botox (through Kaiser - only $15!!) for 8 months. I do not think it helps, but it doesn't seem to hurt either so I've stuck (no pun intended) with it. Some of the pricks do hurt a bit, but it's quick. I don't think it's that bad or worth getting anxious about.

It's not the procedure I am scared of......it's the toxins close to my eyes I worry about.

I've never had any adverse reaction, nor has anyone else I know who has gotten Botox for cosmetic reasons.

A few people on here have mentioned they have. One mentioned losing sight. Scary stuff.

Hello, I had Botox twice 5 years ago for constant severe migraines. The first round I did ok with. It helped about 30-40 %. Three months later I had a second round. The nurse upped my dose and also hit a nerve in my left temple. For three months straight that spot burned. Then it moved to my head. It has not stopped! Has anyone else experienced burning? Did you have any more Botox after? I have several doctors wanting to try again but I’m petrified. I’m medication intolerant so I suffer with nothing to help. I’ve tried all holistic avenues as well. Thank you and god bless!

@gatormomma - having a burning feeling in your head sounds awful.

I just had Botox for the third time for headaches. I have had no problems with it afterwards but the headaches are still there. The Neurologist I see is very good with Botox she actually teaches others how to administer it properly. I am in Illinois if you want her number let me know. Bernie

Yes, I also had Botox done. And also did 3 treatments. But unfortunately I experienced no relief from the injections. I hope it is different for you Bernie. 😊

I had Botox 3x over a few years and nothing! Plus, I worry about my eyes; it is a toxin.

Hi I get sharp stabbing pain in my temples sometimes and use Diclofenac cream or ointment (Voltaran is brand) right directly on my temples sometimes. It helps! Just be careful to use sparingly and rub in well so it doesn’t migrate to your eyes. Ask your doctor about that for you. 😉

Is that 1% or 3%? 3 is a prescription
