After 3 months on hydroxyurea, I am going to ask to switch to Besremi

I should have stuck with Hydroxyurea. The first Besremi shot in Feb. Biweekly thereafter. Starter dose 50 to increase by 50 each dose until full 500 dose. I wish the Dr had advised Besremi is NOT FDA approved for ET, but is being prescribed off label. (It is approved for PV) With that info, I probably would not have made the switch.
I have lost over 10lbs, no appetite, extreme fatigue and the extreme itching is unbearable. Thyroid issue that never existed before and 2 UTIs. All that and really not great control of platelets.

I have to discontinue this med due to side effects and find a new Dr.

I’m sooo sorry! When I began having strange side effects I was freaking out that they’d switch me also but they subsided and I’m still on the hydroxyurea. Biggest issues are tooth nerve pain and extreme sensitivity to sun, so I just deal… I hope you can find a solution. Sending positivity your way ❤️
