I want to know stuff, I want to understand why when an expert suggests a procedure, why it's supposed to work, and what benefits and risks are associated with it. I honestly think the best people you'll ever meet, and whose help you would like to have, appreciate it when their patients ask reasonable and intelligent, informed, questions. It means to them that this person respects the learning, respects their own body, and doesn't want to waste resources like operatory time and the materials they need for the operation. Experts like dealing with people who want to put energy and motivation into their own lives.
