What supplements help Osteopenia, Osteoporosis?
Hi, I am a new member here and wanted to find out if anyone has used AlgaeCal Plus & Strontium Citrate for Osteopenia? I have had this condition for 10 years now plus five years with Osteoarthritis of the hip which I am hoping will help not only my hip but the DEXA scan came up with Osteopenia scores.

Thank you,
50,000 IU of D3 isn’t usually taken daily unless really deficient.
I read Short term use is ok to bring it up then reduce dose.
I’m looking at AlgaeCal Plus ingredients and I don’t see what the plus is!
The ingredients are pretty much the same as other calcium products.
I’m thinking of just taking their Strontium with my calcium instead.
And continue with their Collagen powder .
It’s the Strontium that’s the magic ingredient. I know the Dexa scans aren’t accurate taking strontium with the increased bone density readings but maybe there’s some truth in some increase . I don’t know, but willing to find out. What’s your thoughts?
As i said in my text, 50,000IU of D3 fortnightly... L
Sorry, I obviously didn’t know what fortnightly is. Every 2 weeks!
However studies, testing strontium, show statistically lower fractures. Is Dexa the last word or is it just part of the whole picture. I’m interested in less fractures. Strontium is a natural substance in the soil.
It is prescribed as a prescription for osteoporosis in some countries, in the ranelate form.
have you had an MRI to be sure your cushion (in your hip joints) is in tact? I had osteoarthritis in my hips but the cushion had worn away. got my life back when I had them replaced 12 years ago.
