Post menopause
I am 72 and did not know/realize that this stage of our life is here till the end. I am just starting to notice the change in my body, but mostly my mental health, as well insomnia, lots of tears, and grieving for my youth to some extent, lots of sadness
I’m not sure what I can or should do,
Does anyone else experience any of these symptoms, and would appreciate any advice
Thanks

I had a full hysterectomy at 39 due to severe endomentriosis everywhere. Went on estrogen for 7 years and did fine except some hot flashes. At 51 went on a low dose antidepressant as went through a depression and I manage well so stay on it.
However that is Part A. Part B for me is I also have a personal relationship with Jesus as my Savior and Lord and it is real; not just a religion. Doesnt mean I dont have adversity; but He walks me through things well.

4 ReactionsHi, how do you use the estradiol gel? I have some to insert in my vagina and have been using it for 2 months.
I had Premarin cream before and it did not help the severe dryness and UTI pain that I have had for 4 months. My doctor doesn’t want to give me an estrogen patch.
Why doesn't he want to prescribe the patch?
Change doctors!!! Surely you can find perhaps a female doctor that can help you!
I am seeing a female GYN now and she says the same thing as my PCP.
That I could have a stroke and or breast cancer.
Or a fun tional medicine provider.
I saw a Dr at Mayo women’s center in Rochester. She prescribed the estradiol patch for me after many primary care docs I saw took me off saying the same thing about cancer and stroke. She told me it was perfectly fine to be on patch. I have been on it for 15 years. Only thing that helped with hot flashes is my patch.
