Hi there, I’m Tina. I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s four years ago. I did have a lumbar fusion 10 years ago before I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s. I have had surgery since my Parkinson’s are quite extensive seven hour surgery on my stomach and they were very aware of my medication made sure I got it on time and I had no problem with the surgery at all and didn’t cause any more symptoms with my Parkinson’s at the time. Good luck to your husband. Let me know how he does. I’ll be praying for him.

Hi Tina,
Great news! My husband's surgery went very well. He was up walking today. He didn't have any side effects from the anesthesia or the procedure, and he may be discharged Monday for us to go home. He says he feels very good and no longer feels the pain caused by compression of the nerve root. The fusion of the L5-S1 appears to be successful. This was his 26th major surgery in 3 years. We truly feel blessed! Thank you for sharing, and we hope you are doing well. May you and others find the strength to fight the fight against PD.
