Acid Reflux and its Symptoms: Are they chronic?
Does anyone have a variety of symptoms associated with Acid Reflux that are chronic? Such as chest pain, back pain, weird tastes, etc.? Please tell me your symptoms. A little worried here...thinking it may be something more serious.

Personally since the did find cancer in June I would go to the best hospital you can afford. I don't think you want your esophagus removed. I love my DR. and his team @ Mayo in Rochester and I'm now on the Southern OR coast like 2000 miles away from MN.
Who is your doctor at Mayo? I have thought of going there just for a consultation on What their treatment plan would be. I would like to know about you but I guess that is not kosher to be too personal. You are the one of two who have had treatment and issues. I am thinking of calling and making an appt to go back to MDAnderson for my next appt in December but the issue had always been my single mother daughter with two young children cannot always take off for two days to take me. I keep trying to work it out. The local doctor did an EMR instead of the RFA and it was not really necessary as the doctor suggested from MDA and I am afraid that will set me back a bit. I want to keep my esophagus working well as long as I can. THANKS FOR SHARING. How long have you been on treatment for high dysplasia? Mine has been since Feb (9 months) I am hoping it will go away in the next two treatments but like you it could always come back. I don’t know your age or sex or but can’t help but wonder. Ciao
Hi Linda @l3440r,
If you would like to make an appointment at Mayo Clinic, please call one of our appointment offices. You can also request an appointment online.
The contact information for Minnesota, Arizona and Florida can be found here: http://www.mayoclinic.org/appointments
When you call, the appointment desk will ask questions to help direct you to the best specialist, either at Mayo or closer to home.
Dr Wang is my MD at Mayo in Rochester and as I told others on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest he is a 12. When meeting with him he doesn't rush you at all. Super nice and his staff is great. My High Dysplasia lasted for 2 treatments but Barrett's comes and goes. Good luck, Dave

I am so lucky as I no longer have an epiglottis due to throat cancer but omeprazole has completely managed it for the past 15 years.
Since I am a temporal arteries person my thoughts are that this terrible acid reflex is part of that . It got better and didn t take the protonics but it s back now. The medicine is wonderful so I have to take it daily. It s prescription called pantazone (spelling. Really helps . Also tomatoes is a big trigger. Hate that because they are so delicious.
I also do not produce enough enzymes to digest various sugars found in certain foods. Even though I follow a FODMAP diet which helps to reduce the sugars that I cannot digest, I was still having digestive issues with this along with acid reflux. I have now tried enzymes which are helping me to digest the sugars and as a side benefit are also helping me with my acid reflux.
I had all of the above symptoms that you mentioned. I had several test done, gastric emptying test revealed I have a Gastroparesis. So I pretty much live with those symptoms now every day, this all happened after I got Covid in June.
