Looking for answers to ongoing symptoms

Posted by kellie4 @kellie4, Jul 29 11:44pm

I have been experiencing instability on my feet, pressure in the back of my head by my neck, foggy brain, mood swings, one seizure, and sleepiness among other symptoms for many months. Often I feel like I have the flu. I had an MRI, but it did not indicate anything of concern. I’ve had heart tests as well. Every day is a struggle. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I have an acoustic neuroma. It causes many of the issues you name. I had at least 2 MRIs before I was diagnosed; I think this happened because the scan was done without contrast.

Yes I do side to side head bob, participate in exercises to coordinate opposite side limb coordination and just began two minutes head stand.
Still having difficulty coordinating my right side steps.

@kellie4 you have what I’ve got…you feel like crap, tests are normal, so you run from doctor to doctor for an answer.

Sounds like an autoimmune disorder, and maybe a neurological disorder. Of course, I’m not a doctor. However, that’s what I am dealing with.

Numbness may be neuropathy. Fibromyalgia can cause all sorts of issues.

I see a Neurologist and a Rheumatologist for those issues.

I've tested negative for autoimmune but when I read the symptoms of lupus it seems right on. I think there is neuropathy going on but I don't know how that would explain the pressure in my head and flu-like symptoms.

Do you have days when it goes away? I keep gaining weight. I thought it was from drinking vino, so I stopped, for nothing. I am too big for a relatively small frame. Really is depressing me. I stopped antidepressants because they weren't helping. I am so tired and make myself move even though I don't feel up to it.

It is so good to read all your responses. I feel so creepy and so alone with my symptoms. Friends are out doing fun activities in our mountain town and at our big lake, and I am having trouble walking up the stairs. They say, "You have sleep apnea" or "You have an inner ear problem" or "It's your thyroid." NO IT'S NOT. I will have more tests soon. I am so scared summer will be over and I will be dealing with this junk in the gloom of cranky gray winter.

Tell me about it! I understand. I’m 79, and have 4 separate neurological ailments that have been diagnosed and sre currently being treated. I truly am sorry thar, even after testing, your Doctor’s have not been able to come up with a definitive diagnosis! Good luck!

I trust you will make it ok🙏! It will be better, i believe, once you move closer to your son! It was really difficult for my Grandparents, when they had to sell their farm, years ago, because, with their being elderly, with health problems, they just couldn’t keep up with the necessary daily chores, of running a farm! So, I understand how difficult this all must be for you! In my Grandparents case, a bright note, is that somebody in the family, was able to buy their dairy farm, and, thus, keep it within our family! The farm had been in our overall family, since my Great Grandfather, had moved to South Dakota, from Norway, many years ago! Tornadoes, from last week, came near our family’s beloved ancestral farm, but, miraculously, it was not damaged. Another farm, a few miles away, near Clear Lake, was completely sucked up, and destroyed by the huge tornado! Thankfully, the people living on that farm, were in an underground shelter, and survived the tornado! Take care, and I hope the sale of your farm goes ok, and that your Doctors will be able to diagnose, and treat what ails you! D
