Has anyone had really good results using Clonazepam ?

Has anyone had really good results using Clonazepam / Klonopin to deal with Fibromyalgia pain. I use it and it lowered my anxiety level, muscle contractions and allowed me to sleep. I’m on .5 mg. At this low dose it allows me to wake up when I feel pain and move my body out of the position I am in. I have been on medications that put me in a very deep sleep, the con to that was when I woke up I was in exploding pain all over my body as I did not move all night.

I’m on clonazapam for chronic pain which provokes extreme anxiety for me. I’ve been on 1 mg for several years, but I’m down to .25 mg now. It definitely reduces my anxiety allowing sleep to come easier. I, now, also wake when I need to move because of pain. I’m also down to low dose as I’m older & don’t need my head to be foggy or develop dementia.

I have been on clonazepam for many years after Tamoxifen. It is the only thing that lets me sleep thru the night. I do wake sometimes when I have pain and reposition myself, but am able to go back to sleep. Night is the only time I use it…to sleep..not for pain.

Thank you for commenting. Do you mind telling me how many mg of Clonazepam you are taking for sleeping and what you do for Fibromyalgia pain. I am also very interested in what country you are in. I’m in Alberta, Canada.

I have had Fibro for 25 years in California, U.S. I am taking 1 mg. at night only. It does make you very drowsy, but that's why I only take it at bedtime. You might try 1/2 instead of .25. I have for nothing for the day to day pain that lets me feel have normal and/or able to function. My doctor has allow me to have a limited amount of hydrocodone per month to use when I want to 'have fun, enjoy my grandchildren, a day out or a day I just can't tolerate the pain". It was hard to get him to do that, but I was pretty persistent. I take half of the dose and it lasts me about 6 hours. I am extremely disciplined about taking it. They run a drug test on me once a year to make. sure I'm not. taking anything else. I know in some states, you cannot get it at all . They would rather you be on CBD, but REALLY? It is quite expensive and wanted nothing to do with it. I was in a study at Stanford about 20 years ago for a med called Naltrexone. It worked the opposite for me, but there are some taking it (so I've heard).. Hang in there, gentle hugs!

I take 2 mg Clonazepam and 100 mg Seroquel to sleep.
Fortunately I don’t wake up in pain from being in one position all night.
I have a sleep disorder related to all the autoimmune issues going on with my body and cannot sleep without this medication. I guess I’m lucky that being in one position all night doesn’t bother me.

I also take 1 clonazepam to sleep. When I wake up I will take another 1/2. I did not think about my leg neuropathy being caused by sleeping in 1 position. It is what I have to do because of my torn rotator cuff, I can only sleep on my back. The clonazepam certainly helps.

I have been on clonazepam low dose for a very long time. Initially, the doctor also included a low dose of trazodone. I titrated myself off of the trazadone because they kept changing the manufacturer on me. I was not getting the same results at all. And you are correct, I too wake up and shift positions. Never really thought of that as a benefit, but you are right!

I totally agree. I DO believe here (at least) on the West Coast) they would rather you self medicate with cannabis. I've tried CBD with a small combination of THC. It helped with pain and anxiety, but I am not willing to loose my Dr. faith in giving me other drugs when she sees drug test results. So I now rub a very expensive CBD cream on my feet, knees and back. It helps.

Thank you for that. Your info makes me feel more validated. Do you mind telling me where you are located? I am in Alberta Canada.

I'm in Vancouver but I did get my FM and migraines when I lived in Hinton. Some family in Calgary also have it. It's because of barometric pressure and weather changes, it's because of the foothills.
