I received my first infusion of Recast last August, and when I had my bone scan a couple of months ago, there was no improvement, but apparently my osteoporosis has not improved, but it has not gotten better. I was sure the PA who I had been seeing said there could be improvement, but ow she says no!? I'm about to do my second dose and I wonder if anyone has experienced any improvement or if I could consider switching to another treatment? When I initially looked into treatment she had really been pushing Forteo, but my insurance didn't cover it. Not sure if that would improve my condition either?
Thanks!

Hello, I had 3 infusions of Reclast in 2016, 2017 & 2018 at the Mayo Clinic. I needed to stop the progression of the osteoporosis and since I had side affects from oral medications I decided to try Reclast. I was told it would not improve my bone density but hopefully stop the progression. My doctor was just as amazed as I was that it reversed my osteoporosis to osteopenia and that was confirmed again with my last bone density scan in March 2025. Each person is different and for whatever the reason I had amazing results with this treatment.
