Sometimes I wonder if the drugs help or whether it's good luck or genes. So sorry to hear about your broken ribs. Haven't experienced that yet but did fracture my pelvis years ago. Hate having someone ask what's your pain from 1 to 10 so now I use the pelvis as my upper end.
My endocrinologist keeps telling me I have osteoporosis; my response is "maybe".
Her conclusion is based on the -2.5 value at L2. L2 just happens to be where my spine takes a significant lateral bend because of my scoliosis. Standing up straight as my mother was always reminding me, has my left shoulder looking 1.5 inch lower than the right. Doc says the computer adjusts for the turn at L2 but alas I don't believe that happens. At an active 79 (still skiing) I've become more cynical and sometimes blow off what I'm told by the "experts" of which there are non in the Houston area. So good luck. I've learned so much from the knowledgeable women in this group that I think my PCP would like to get rid of me since I question everything. Friday she suggested that since I was pretty up to date on the subject, I should just pick city with good bone options and make my appointment there. Maybe so.
