Does anyone find that a type of shoe helps your foot neuropathy?
I am on a constant quest for shoes that don't kill my feet due to the neuropathy. I find that Spencos and Wolky shoes seem the best. Are there any other suggestions? Shoes can be just crippling for me. Horrid.

What type of Sketchers do you get? I have an old pair of slip on ones, they’re the only shoes I can try to walk in. I’ve spent a fortune on different shoes and can’t fin any that are wearable. If you could share about the Sketchers I’d appreciate it.
I have Skechers “Go Walk Flex Grand Entry” and they were great for months. Not merely tolerable, but great, with no pain at all for two mile walks. I don’t know if I have worn out the cushioned insole or if my feet have grown worse. I will try another new pair in the fall when I have to put my sandals away for the season.
Good morning. Like many of you I have spent$$$ through the years looking for the right shoe. At first for several years I thought shoes were my problem. On the day I was diagnosed the poditrist told me. Shoes wont fix this but some will be more comfortable. True words.
In the summer I like Spenco fusion slides, available on Amazon. They have to be fusion. They are squishy and feel a bit like a massage. I swear they make my NP lessen. They are not very expensive. I buy several ahead. I am always concerned they will quit manufacturing them
Winter I wear a shoe that I do not understand why it works. It is a Dansko boot. It’s expensive.
My go to in a sports shoe is a Saucony The expensive one. Hokas leave me unbalanced.
I do wear some sketchers with xtra padding inserts
Daily I wear x padding on the balls of my foot.
Good luck in searching for something that helps you.
I tried to put links in but the program is a no go for that
I am looking ar barefoot slides on Amazon. Is that a brand? Or just a type of shoe?
Could you recommend a brand, please
I have been wearing barefoot shoes for years. I am a big advocate of these. They have improved my foot health and toe health enormously. Since I have gotten PN I have stuck with them and would not wear anything else. Some brands I like are Xero, Lems, and Vivobarefoot. I also love my Altra shoes, which are not strictly "bare" but they have a nice wide toe box and feel wonderful. The shoes I wear the most currently are the Xero Prio or Prio Neo, The Lems Primal Zen and the Altra Escalante 4. They vary in how much of a sole they have, from very bare to some support, and I have different preferences on different days. When I travel and can only take one shoe, I take only the Altra Escalante 4.

I may be wrong but I think the barefoot slides is just a type of shoe and not a specific brand. I saw quite a few listed by searching Amazon.
I should add that this summer I’ve been wearing “KuaiLu Womens Slides Sandals with Plantar Fasciitis Arch Support Fashion Comfort Adjustable Flat Sandals Ladies Lightweight Orthotic Slip on Sandals” from Amazon and they are good. There was no break-in period and they seem to be holding up well. They are also inexpensive.
Good mornng, John
Very true. In fact, when the wound doctor advised I wear compression socks, she told me they'd not do a thing for my neuropathy; the socks' assignment was to protect the septic wound's new closure and also help reduce leg swelling, another left-behind gift of the sepsis infection.
I believe you're right, John, the song is "I've lost that loving feeling." I'd be embarrassed showing up at the ER and saying, "I don't know, Doc. I seem to have lost that squeezing feeling."

There's a brilliant bit of prolonged slapstick in Mel Brooks' Silent Movie involving three actors in full armor trying gamely to join Liza Minnelli at her commisary lunch table (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6bdxUyQN3w&ab_channel=ZebulitoBomba). I was reminded of that scene as I was posting yesterday.

I got a pair of barefoot shoes and hated them because I need more support for my balance. I didn’t think about how they may help with driving. Good to hear that because I have a real problem finding the pedals. I am glad you made note of this! It may be a game changer!
