Anyone had an ablation for lower back pain

I’ve had low back pain for 2 years. Pain injections did no good. Any good results with ablation

I’ve had over half a dozen RF ablations. Nothing has worked very well for very long. The last one was so painful I’ll never do it again. It didn’t help at all and left me in severe pain for two weeks.

Doesn't sound very encouraging.

I had ablation on both sides of my back and I was in chronic pain also. Did not work. I am sick of being in pain.

I have been having ablations on my lower back every six months for a few years.
I’m not going to do it again.
The last one was extremely painful and didn’t help at all.
None of them ever gave me relief for very long, but I was hopeful that they would help.
I won’t bother again. It’s just too painful and doesn’t work.

Hello everyone, I’m considering ablation of the cervical 2/3 nerve because I fell so hard onto my chin and damaged that nerve. Has anyone had ablation of this area? Would you advise it?
I also need ablation of my left occipital neck nerve. Has anyone had ablation of this one and would advise it?

I had RF ablation following bilateral laminectomy; to no avail in both instances. Trying Tramadol now.

I had Ablation at L3,4,5. It helped relieve my pain and changed my ability to move and exercise. I am grateful it was so effective for 7 months.

I am scheduled for my 2nd ablation in 1 month. My 1st lasted like 9 months. Has anyone had or heard of the MILD procedure?

I have had both Ablation and Nerve Blockers..... personally i find nerve blockers work better for me. Some people get 6 months to 3 years out of it. I have always gone to hospital for them... having wrecked a couple eg: don't get on a ride on mower is the biggest one. I am going to attempt this out of hospital now just to see how i cope as my body doesn't like being put under anymore.... hope this helps and take care

I probably had at least 6 ablations. Very little relief for me. The staff at the doctors office said most people get
50-80% relief. The doctors finally decided that as a last resort to try a spinal stimulator implant. WOW! It’s been life changing! Eliminated at minimum 80% of my lower back pain. It’s a very expensive procedure and insurance companies don’t want to pay for it until you’ve been through all the other treatments.
It’s easy peezy. 2 weeks recovery, very little post op pain and it’s off to the races. All that being said, my back is on average worse than most. That’s why the other procedures did not provide much relief.

It was good to see your post on spinal stimulator implant. I have just had the week trial they offered sorry to say that it didn't work for me. It was bad pain from start to finish Very disappointing . ...I am wondering if it had anything to do with my Archnoiditis . .....I had a very bad leak after back surgery
and that is what I was left with

That’s unfortunate.
I actually fell into a very small percentage of patients that had a spinal stimulator implanted and developed thoracic radiculopathy.
I will be having a revision surgery in a month. I will do anything to keep the stimulator as it provided at minimum 80% in pain relief.
Hoping you can find relief. I have had chronic acute pain for over four decades.
