Yes I have bronchiectasis with MAC colonization. Never on meds as I do not have active MAC infection. Having R A meds puts one at additional risks for infections. All are stable presently. Due diligence all the time.
Trying to avoid meds for BE, MAI, now RA. Which to treat so not to trigger the others? Stable except new flare on RA. I think stress has something to do with it?

The RA is controlled with Hydroxychloroquine and methotrexate. There is a fungal infection and
Pseudomonas Aeruginosa in my lungs. No antibiotics yet. The dr is working on it.
Thank you for being here. It is good to know others who are dealing with these kind of questions.

I was diagnosed and treated for RA in 2012. I was found to have bronchiectasis then. I was in remission for the RA then in 2020 I was diagnosed with ANČA associated vasculitis and MAI. Now treated and in remission. I take it a day at a time.
Did you find you had BE then RA or visa versa. I am trying to find out why I now at 78, have RA. I was diagnosed with BE in 2020, always stable. Hopefully I can control this and send into remission without meds. Thanks

I was diagnosed with bronchiectais in 2020, then MAI in 2022. Stable with no meds, just a vest. Now, RA factor turned up high, first in 2023, with no symptoms. Then walking 2 miles one day, not being able to walk across the room the next day.
So, trying to find answers. This site has been very helpful. Thank You

In 2000 I had CT for waxing and waning nodules too small for biopsy. BE seen on CT.
I was not told at the time. Wait and watch until 2009 when diagnosed with RA. CT then due to nodule that was Histo. BE and culture was MAC.

Me too. I've had RA for 11yrs, on meds all that time. But with MAI and BE my Dr's say No to RA meds. I'm thinking September I'll have to go on the antibiotics.

I meant not on BE meds for MAC. I have been on RA meds for years.

I had RA first. Became immune suppressed with biologics and acquired BE with MAI infection. Dr's told me that it's also related to RA.
