CALCIUM ASPARTATE BETTER FOR OSTEOPOROSIS THAN CALCIUM CARBONATE
I HAVE READ THAT CALCIUM ASPARTATE ANHYDROUS IS BETTER FOR OSTEOPOROSIS AND CAN LOWER A DEXA SCAN BETTER THAN CALCIUM CARBONATE. IS THIS SO?

@sebutler I find it easier to swallow large pills with water, with my head down, looking at the floor. Try that. Even a pill stuck in the throat if I forget to do this, will go down easily when I drink water looking down.
I have a problem swallowing food too, and putting my head down as I swallow helps.
I agree with increasing calcium rich foods but my concern with added dairy is inflammation causing arthritis pain! Confusing for sure!!!
@rashida -- Thank you so much! I will try that. I try to get all my calcium from food, but sometimes, like when I am traveling, I need to supplement with pills.
Jean78 -- Many thanks! I didn't know it was available in dissolvable powder form!!!
@denway91
I live in LA. They sell salmon bone at supermarket. I put the bone in pressure cooker for two hours to soften them. I eat the bone once a day, just a little bit, along with vịt D+K (low dose) I will know if it helps by my next Dexa scan. Just try to ward off the side effects of AIs. Not sure if it works! One thing I know for sure is that calcium supplements caused my UTI twice. The article confirms my suspicion. For some it’s probably ok.
I thought I had responded to this, jean78, but I don't see the reply here, so writing again. Thank you so much!! I had no idea calcium citrate was available in powder form. I will look for it.
Citra-cal makes a “petite” version of the calcium citrate pills which I find much easier to swallow.
I take the gummy version because I have difficulty swallowing.
A gummy version -- I didn't know that existed!!! I'll look for it.
Vegetables (conventionally grown in US) have sixty percent less calcium in them according to a 2020 study than they did in 1940. That is huge. If it is not in our soil, it is not in our food.
