Burning urethra and vaginal atrophy
In February I was having terrible burning urethra pain and ultimately diagnosed with vaginal atrophy (I’m 66 and had total hysterectomy 7 years ago) and started on Estradiol cream twice a week in Feb.
It’s much better now (July) but not completely gone. I still get slight burning urethral twinges every? 3 days or so multiple times a day. I can live with it but just wondering should I be expecting this to ever stop? I never had anything like this prior to February.

Thanks rose1966 - I thought drinking more water might be helping but since I wasn’t having the problem every day I wasn’t really sure. I’m really careful with the Charmin and the soap. Thanks so much. They mentioned pelvic floor therapy or a cystoscopy but that freaked me out a little bit so I think I’ll keep working on it.

1 ReactionI suffered with this severely. It took a good 6 months before it REALLY cleared up. I still have to use the cream. And from time to time I’ll have a day of burning.
Update: in August I passed a kidney stone and every symptom stopped immediately. I had never had one before and was so surprised. Not only that I had one, but by the symptoms also. And how long it took to come out. Thank you everyone.
