From Surgeon General's Advisory, 2023: Our Epidemic of Loneliness and Isolation: The U.S. Surgeon General’s Advisory on the Healing Effects of Social Connection and Community, (82 pages long) the following I found:

"Cognitive Function Substantial evidence also links social isolation and loneliness with accelerated cognitive decline and an increased risk of dementia in older adults, (10,41) including Alzheimer’s disease. (163) Chronic loneliness and social isolation can increase the risk of developing dementia by approximately 50% in older adults, even after controlling for demographics and health status.

Thank you for sharing the data from the Surgeon General's Advisory study. It is a compelling powerful reminder of how deeply social connection impacts not just emotional well-being but also cognitive health. A simple volunteer or community event can support one in avoiding loneliness.

My husband has been diagnosed with mild Alzheimer’s disease, he often uses the wrong words while talking about something. Is that’s common symptom?
