Feedback on Linzess for Irritable Bowel-C or Chronic Constipation

One of my gastros suggested Smooth Move Tea..(senna I think) it didn't work for me.. but worked for my niece (who is about 45 and has an elongated colon and somethings goes a whole month with out a bowel movement..I don't know how she does that!! and worked well for my little sister who is 68 and was only going once a week..perhaps you might try that.. prayers for you!!

I have had chronic constipation for almost a month; and I mean chronic. Did everything and drank everything to no avail. Went to the ER with very limited success.
I had Cat scans, multiple xrays, no visible blockage or other physical problems. I went to the Gastro. Doc who prescribed Linzess. Now day 2 and the log jam is broken.
If day 3 is positive, it would seem like the problem is resolved, at least for the time being.
PS: The drug is very expensive but I'm not complaining.

Yo no puedo usar la cápsula de Linnzes completa porque me da diarrea por dos días. Lo que hago es abrir la cápsula, retirar 3/4 partes del medicamento, volverla a cerrar y tomarla. Así me funciona mejor.

Hi, @lucy12 - you mentioned not being about to use the entire linaclotide (Linzess) at one time, or you would experience diarrhea.

Wondering if you have irritable bowel-C , chronic constipation or another diagnosis?

I've been taking constella/linzess for about a year now for IBS. My lower abdominal pain has become worse. Linzess? Should I go off it?

It didn't work for me....but Trulance and Miralax do!! Best of luck to you..it's such a terrible problem.. prayers!!

It is important to take Linzess right away in the am with like 8 0z of water. 30 mins before eating any food.

For me, it didn't work. I have motility issues due to dysautonomia. My stomach has issues with the muscle activity (peristalsis).

Also, my pelvic floor dysfunction more than likely doesn't help. Some of my muscles are so right and have knots, while other muscles are weak.

Drs usually recommend more exercise, drinking more fluids (water), and increasing fiber intake gradually. While that would help with the majority of those with common constipation, it doesn't work for everyone.

Hi, newest constipation drug is called IBSrella has anyone tried it. It was just awful for me. All the others, every one of them I was on did nothing. Anyone try this latest one.
