I have both dry eyes and dry mouth!
I have suffered from dryness on my whole body for at least 10 years, since age 70! I was tested positive for Sjogren's syndrome. I can tolerate dryness anywhere on my body except my MOUTH! Every night, my bone-dried mouth awaken me, then I have to sip water every few hours all through the night!. I don't have dry mouth during the day. My primary doctor didn't offer any advice! Taping my mouth to keep my mouth closed didn't work. The only mouth moisturizer that help is Biotene Dry Mouth Gel that I have been using every night. This moisturizing gel is quite expensive, also I don't know the bad effects for long term use! I'm hoping to hear from you, the kind MayoConnect people, how you cope with your dry mouth! Thanks so much!

I was diagnosed with SS also. I use XyliMelts, just 1, each night. They really help me to get to sleep. If I wake up during the night, I will sip some water and sometimes use one more.
Dear Friend, for dry eyes, I recommend your optometrist give you a recommendation for the Pro version of Regener-Eyes. Don't waist time with the the more affordable Lite version. Good luck! Julie
I have both also! I use Preservative Free Systane Eye Drops for dry eye and they work well for me. About 3 years or so ago I was suffering from very dry mouth, especially during sleep! My ENT prescribed me a generic med that can be taken up to 3 x per day; Pilocarpine, 5mg. I have taken it at least 2 x per day since with no side effects. It helps tremendously! My ENT says it is commonly prescribed for patients with throat cancer that can suffer greatly with dry mouth. Hope this helps.
