Echolight sonogram scan for bones
Has anyone heard of, or had an Echolight sonogram scan instead of a radiation DEXA scan? New FDA approved that has been used in Europe for awhile. https://www.echolightmedical.com/en/company/

Thank you so much for your feedback! I wonder what type of machine they are using????? Maybe they have some knock off. People who have gotten Echolights seem to be in the same ball park as Dexa. Your results are just crazy!!
Did you inform them of the discrepancy?
IMHO your REMS was performed by an unqualified technician. It’s a medical procedure and Osteostrong is basically a GYM. I don’t know how they got the permission to do the procedure. I had the option to go to Osteostrong or a radiology office for my REMS. I opted to go to the Radiologist. There was no pain, no discomfort because it’s just an Ultrasound with some gel on your skin and they scan with a probe. Insurance covered the visit and the doctor wrote a report. Again IMHO, Osteostrong is a scam. There was evidence that people fractured doing their program.
I was going to come on here and ask about Osteostrong, but sounds like I got the answer I expected. If it sounds too good to be true, then it is. I have never heard of REMS (clearly I have much to learn) but I want to ask my doctor about it. I just wish there was something that helped besides meds.
Have you considered filing a complaint and demanding a refund ? The procedure is obviously botched.
There’s a thread today
“ Osteoporosis without drugs “. The Onero program by Dr Belinda Beck at the Bone Clinic in Australia.
The information I got from Osteostrong (and NO, I have no interest in taking part in their program or gym) is that they bring a qualified technician in twice a year. Now I wonder if that is true!
There are no doctor's offices offering REMS scans in WI that I have found. It's Osteostrong or I'd have to try to travel somewhere. So I'm disappointed to hear about MNpines experience. 🙁
I agree, I would ask for a refund and report them to the BBB
Here is the website of the Radiology office in Scottsdale AZ offering REMS. Phone # 602-878-7501.

I have Medicare and a secondary. The visit was covered by insurance.
I have been treating Osteoporosis for several years with results going in the wrong direction. I recently had an echo light scan and it showed my results are nearly normal. I am so perplexed. Did I go through two years of daily shots and thousands of dollars on treatments over the years for something that was not an accuate diagnosis? It's hard to be excited about the results. It is making me lose faith in our medical system. Who do I believe? I was getting ready to go on another regimen of treatment based on my most recent dexascan but with the results of the echo light I am at a loss.
Has anyone had experience with a new product called osteo boost? A non drug therapy for osteoporosis. Approved by the FDA and supposedly under review for Medicare coverage. I googled this and was impressed with the double blind study and professional review.
the osteo boost sounds seriously interesting! but it seems for younger and less impacted people. I researched the osteostrong and I wouldn't waste my money. The DEXA with TBS is covered by insurance and super reliable. I am doing well on the bone meds. (I am taking Tymlos and Reclast and will be done in another 3 years. Already getting my first results and they are GOOD. So I am happy!
